The majority of my research is focused on the spectacular Cretaceous marine faunas and stratigraphic sections of the Western Interior of North America. Each summer I spend two weeks measuring stratigraphic sections and collecting fossils in Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Colorado, and Utah.
K/Pg Boundary-Mississippi
Cretaceous Gulf and Atlantic Coast
Besides working in the American West I am also interested in the Cretaceous marine deposits and faunas of the Gulf and Atlantic Coastal Plains. I spend one week each year collecting fossils and describing stratigraphic sections in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas.
Neogene Undifferentied-Florida
Neogene-Quaternary of Florida
I am also highly interested in the Neogene-Quaternary of Florida, which provides a significant natural laboratory to document the influence of icehouse climatic regimes on marine faunas in passive margin settings.
